Pony Wars Puts a 2019 Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger to the Test
- 19 jun. 2019
Pony Wars has returned for a second season, pitting muscle cars head-to-head in a competition designed for the true performance enthusiast.
“We’re thrilled to be sponsoring Horsepower Wars,” said Phil Swire, Chief Marketing Officer for K&N. “The Pony Wars series embodies the K&N do-it-yourself and performance focused spirit, and we’re excited to watch the episodes unfold as these vehicles go head-to-head.”
The first season of Pony Wars placed the Mustang against the Camaro, and the second season now features the addition of one of the most popular vehicles in American muscle—the Dodge Challenger.
The Mustang team (lead by FordNXT magazine) is working on a 2019 Mustang GT Premium, the Camaro team (lead by Ron Mowen and Vengeance Racing) is upgrading a 2019 Camaro SS, and the Challenger team (lead by Mike Copeland and Arrington Performance) is putting elbow grease into a 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack.
Each team has a $10,000 budget to spend at Summit Racing, and can only use off-the-shelf bolt-on performance upgrades available to any consumer (plus the addition of a ProCharger supercharger kit)—no fabrication allowed. Each vehicle will be put to test with dyno, drag strip, autocross, and braking challenges, and the team with the most points overall will be dubbed the 2019 Pony Wars winner.
K&N will be providing cold air intake systems and performance air filters for each vehicle. Find the K&N air filter that fits your vehicle by clicking the button below.
